My “Tia Fina” from Baja California was visiting for my Moms 60th bday. A celebration which was cancelled a week prior due to a new virus… “the Corona Virus.” The 14th was a Saturday so we were showing her town and what better way to give her a taste of Tucson than taking her to an iconic Tucson restaurant, the original El Charro Downtown. We were seated in the Virgin Mary room, a room full of color and crosses, we sat and admired the art!
My aunt loved everything! Her favorite- the carne seca! The chimichangas are a must, the prickly pear margaritas, everything was perfection and little did we know this would be our “last supper” at a restaurant in 2020 and were about to embark unprecedented times.
