My mother was diagnosed with lung cancer just before the pandemic( Sept 2019). She underwent chemotherapy and surgery and soon as she was able, drove out to Tucson for a visit as this is where she considered home. Of course she wanted good Mexican food and a margarita to celebrate so off to El Charro we went for a girls night. El Charro was one of the few places locally that adapted to COVID protocols and thus allowed us to enjoy a evening out. To this day the picture we took this night is one of my favorites. Unfortunately, cancer can be unpredictable and my mother passed in June 2021. We hosted her celebration of life at El Charro, complete with all her favorites- including margaritas for all. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience and is something we will not forget.
